Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to be a starter in 2025 NBA All-Star Game

According to Sam Quinn of CBS Sports on Thursday, Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of Toronto, Ontario will be a starter in the 2025 National Basketball All-Star Game in San Francisco, California. The game will be played on February 16 at the Chase Center, which is home to the Golden State Warriors.

Gilgeous-Alexander is one of five starters in the Western Conference. He is joined by Stephen Curry of the Warriors, LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers, Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns, and Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets. The Eastern Conference starters are Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns of the New York Knicks, Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics, Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks, and Donovan Mitchell of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

There is a different All-Star Game format this season. Players are being separated into four different teams. This is the third straight season Gilgeous-Alexander has been named a NBA All-Star, and the second straight year he has been named a starter.

In 2024-25, Gilgeous-Alexander leads the entire NBA with 32 points per game, and 1376 total points, 485 field goals and 320 free throws. He is also averaging 6.1 assists per game, 5.3 rebounds per game, two steals per game, and 1.1 blocks per game. Gilgeous-Alexander also has a field goal percentage of .529, three point percentage of .348, and a free throw percentage of .904.
