For the second straight day at the 2025 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Team Quebec made Scotties history. One day after setting the record for most stolen ends in a match with seven, the Quebec team skipped by Laurie St-Georges of Laval, Quebec tied the Scotties record for most points in a single end with seven. In the morning draw on Sunday, Quebec scored seven points in the seventh end en route to a 12-3 win over the Northwest Territories.
The other two provinces to score seven points in an end are New Brunswick’s Andrea Crawford (now Kelly), and Saskatchewan’s Robyn Silvernagle. New Brunswick had seven points in the seventh end in a 13-7 win over Manitoba’s Kerri Einarson at the 2020 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Ironically, Einarson went on to win the tournament. Then, Saskatchewan had seven points in the eighth end in a 13-4 win over Nunavut’s Brigitte MacPhail at the 2023 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Kamloops, British Columbia.
Also on Sunday, we saw an unlikely win by Yukon. Bayly Scoffin of Whitehorse upset Nova Scotia 9-8 for only Yukon’s seventh win at the Scotties since 2015.
Meanwhile, Alberta’s Selena Sturmay became the second straight Alberta team to deliver an impressive comeback. After Kayla Skrlik of Calgary came back from a 6-2 deficit after four ends to beat Team BC 9-8 on Saturday, Selena Sturmay of Edmonton came back from a 5-1 deficit after three ends on Sunday to beat Team Northern Ontario 10-6. Sturmay stole six straight points from the seventh to ninth ends.
There are two undefeated teams at the moment. Rachel Homan’s Team Canada is at 3-0 and leads Pool A. Kerri Einarson is at 2-0 and leads Pool B.
