Two-time Canadian Olympic gold medalist Patrice Bergeron of the Boston Bruins collected his 1000th NHL point on Monday. The native of L’Ancienne-Lorette, Quebec had one assist in a 5-3 Bruins win over the Tampa Bay Lightning at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.

Bergeron became the 94th player to reach the milestone. In 1235 regular season games, he has 409 goals and 591 assists for 1000 points. All of Bergeron’s 1000 points have come with the Bruins. Bergeron won the gold medal for Canada at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, and the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.

Bergeron’s 1000th point was an assist on a goal by Brad Marchand of Halifax, Nova Scotia. It was an all-Canadian goal as Jake DeBrusk of Edmonton, Alberta picked up the other assist at 15:08 of the second period, which put the Bruins up 4-1 at the time.

So far this season, Bergeron has nine goals and nine assists for 18 points. He is a +12 with four penalty minutes, seven power-play points, two game-winning goals, 60 shots on goal, 261 faceoff wins, 14 blocked shots, 15 hits, eight takeaways, and six giveaways.

The Bruins meanwhile continue to roll. They have a record of 17 wins and two losses for 34 points. The 34 points are the most points in the entire NHL. The Bruins have two more points than the red hot New Jersey Devils, winners of 13 straight, and three more points than the Vegas Golden Knights, which are first in the Western Conference with 31 points.
