The previous record was nine (Montreal’s 6-3 win over Ottawa on February 24, 2024 and Minnesota’s 6-3 win over Toronto on December 7, 2024). Ottawa also tied the PWHL record for the largest margin of victory (five). New York beat Minnesota 5-0 on January 4, 2025. Ottawa tied the PWHL record for most goals scored in one period (four), as they accomplished the feat in the second period.
Tereza Vanisova scored three of the goals for Ottawa, while Gabbie Hughes scored twice. The other three Ottawa goal scorers were Mannon McMahon and Canadian Olympic gold medalists Victoria Bach of Milton, Ontario and Brianne Jenner of Oakville, Ontario. Jenner won the gold medal for Canada in women’s hockey at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, and teamed up with Bach to won gold at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing.
With the win, the Charge move into a fourth place tie in the PWHL standings with Boston and New York. They all have 20 points.
