
Canadian Olympic gold medalist Mikael Kingsbury of Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Quebec won a World Cup moguls event on Friday and a World Cup dual moguls event on Saturday in Waterville, New Hampshire. For Kingsbury he has now won a remarkable 94 World Cup gold medals and 134 World Cup medals (won 30 silver medals and 10 bronze medals).
On Friday, Kingsbury had a winning score of 84.95 points. Nick Page of the United States won the silver medal with 83.55 points. Benjamin Cavet of France won the bronze medal with 74.55 points. Kingsbury reached the podium by 33.2 points. Daeyoon Jung of South Korea finished in fourth place with 51.75 points.
On Saturday in the dual moguls, Kingsbury beat Matt Graham of Australia in the final by a score of 21-14 to take gold. Filip Gravenfors of Sweden won bronze as he beat Ikuma Horishima of Japan 22-13 in the small final. On his way to the final, Kingsbury beat Robin Olgaard of Sweden 29-6 in the first round, Dylan Walczyk of the United States 26-9 in the quarterfinal, and Gravenfors 20-15 in the semifinals.
In the World Cup men’s moguls standings, Kingsbury leads with 380 points. Cavet is second with 260 points. In the World Cup men’s dual moguls standings, Kingsbury leads with 132 points. Cavet is second with 125 points.
Kingsbury won his gold medal in men’s moguls at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang. The gold medal will give him confidence as he prepares for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo.
