Edouard Therriault of Lorraine, Quebec won the bronze medal in a men’s World Cup slopestyle skiing event in Font Romeu, France on Sunday for the first World Cup medal of his career. The bronze medal is significant because it came in the final men’s slopestyle skiing World Cup before the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing.

Therriault posted a score of 81.71 points. He beat Canadian Teal Harle of Campbell River, British Columbia by 0.25 points to win a medal. Harle finished in fourth place with 81.46 points. Andri Ragettli of Switzerland won the gold medal with 86.36 points. Ben Barclay of New Zealand won the silver medal with 82.71 points.

In the men’s World Cup freestyle skiing standings, Therrieault is in seventh place with 96 points. Fabien Boesch of Switzerland is in first place with 114 points.

There are currently four Canadians in the men’s slopestyle skiing World Cup standings. Max Moffat of Guelph, Ontario is in eighth place with 95 points, Harle is in ninth place with 84 points, and Mark Hendrickson of Calgary, Alberta is in 10th place with 81 points.

Even though there are no more World Cup men’s slopestyle skiing competitions before the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing, there is one more major competition in slopestyle skiing before the Olympic test. It will take place on January 23 as the Winter X Games returns to Aspen, Colorado. The Olympic Winter Games men’s slopestyle skiing competition on February 24 is at 8:24 pm MT.
