
The Edmonton Oilers have remained alive in the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs. On Thursday at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, the Oilers defeated the Los Angeles Kings 4-2 to tie their best out of seven Western Conference quarterfinal series at three games apiece.
Two Oilers had three points each. Evander Kane of Vancouver, British Columbia had two goals and one assist. Connor McDavid of Richmond Hill, Ontario had one goal and two assists. A third Canadian had a multi-point game as defenseman Cody Ceci of Ottawa, Ontario had two assists. The other Oilers goal scorer was defenseman Tyson Barrie of Victoria, British Columbia had the game-winner at 14:50 of the third period from Oilers superstars McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
Edmonton will now host game seven of the Western Conference quarterfinal series on Saturday. It will be one of three game sevens to be played on Saturday, and one of two that will be played in Canada. There will also be an Eastern Conference quarterfinal series between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario. The third series that is going to a game seven on Saturday will be between the Boston Bruins and Carolina Hurricanes.
