National Hockey League goaltender Darcy Kuemper of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan recorded his 32nd career shutout on Monday. He accomplished the feat in a 3-0 Los Angeles Kings victory over the Nashville Predators.
Kuemper made 16 saves for the shutout. He made six saves in the first period, seven saves in the second period, and only three saves in the third period. Defenseman Roman Josi led the Predators with four shots on goal.
Meanwhile, the Kings goal scorers were Kevin Fiala, Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe. The Canadians who picked up assists were defenseman Brandt Clarke of Nepean, Ontario, and Phillip Danault of Victoriaville, Quebec.
So far this season, Kuemper has a record of four wins and three losses in extra time. He has a goals against average of 2.67 and a save percentage of .899.
In Kuemper’s NHL career, he has four shutouts with the Kings, 10 shutouts with the Arizona Coyotes, seven shutouts with the Minnesota Wild, six shutouts with the Washington Capitals, and five shutouts with the Colorado Avalanche. With the win, the Kings improved to a record of seven wins, three regulation losses, and three losses in extra time for 17 points. They are tied with the Vegas Golden Knights for the most points in the Pacific Division.
