Connor Ingram records seventh career NHL shutout

Arizona Coyotes goaltender Connor Ingram of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan recorded his seventh career National Hockey League shutout. He accomplished the feat in a 4-0 Coyotes win over the Detroit Red Wings on Friday at the Mullett Arena in Tempe, Arizona.

Ingram made 28 saves for the shutout. He made six saves in the first period, 17 saves in the second period, and five saves in the third period. Alex DeBrincat and Patrick Kane had four shots on goal each to lead the Red Wings.

Two Canadians scored for the Coyotes. They were centre Jack McBain of Toronto, Ontario, who scored the game-winning goal at 2:35 of the first period to open the scoring, and Alexander Kerfoot of Vancouver, British Columbia, who put the Coyotes up 2-0.

In 2023-24, Ingram has a record of 18 wins, 16 regulation losses, and three losses in extra time. He has a goals against average of 2.78 and a save percentage of .911, Ingram also has six shutouts this season, which is tied with Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry of Surrey, British Columbia for the most in the NHL. All of Ingram’s seven NHL shutouts in his career have been with the Coyotes.

The Coyotes have won three games in their last five. Before that, they had a 14 game losing streak.
