Laurent Brossoit records fourth career NHL shutout

Laurent Brossoit of Port Alberni, British Columbia recorded his fourth career National Hockey League shutout on Friday. He accomplished the feat in a 3-0 Winnipeg Jets win over the Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington.

Brossoit made eight saves in the first period, four saves in the second period, and five saves in the third period. He made 17 saves overall. Jordan Eberle of Regina, Saskatchewan had four shots on goal to lead the Kraken.

Mark Scheifele of Kitchener, Ontario scored the game-winning goal for the Jets at 7:15 of the third period. Scheifele’s goal opened the scoring and was his 19th goal of the season.

In 2023-24, Brossoit has a record of 11 wins, four regulation losses, and two losses in extra time. They have a goals against average of 2.11 and a save percentage of .924.

Of Brossoit’s four career National Hockey League shutouts, three have been with the Winnipeg Jets. The other was with the Vegas Golden Knights. Brossoit blanked the Vancouver Canucks 1-0 while with the Jets on December 22, 2018, and blanked the Canucks again while with the Jets on February 19, 2021. This time the Jets won 2-0. Brossoit’s third NHL shutout came on February 8, 2022 in a 4-0 Golden Knights win over the Edmonton Oilers.

The Jets are second in the Central Division with 85 points. They have a record of 40 wins, 17 regulation losses, and five losses in extra time. They are only behind the Dallas Stars.
