
Winnipeg Jets centre Cole Perfetti of Whitby, Ontario recorded his first career National Hockey League hat trick on Friday. He accomplished the feat in a 5-2 Jets win over the Utah Hockey Club at the Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Perfetti opened the scoring on the power-play from Gabriel Vilardi of Kingston, Ontario and Nikolai Ehlers with two minutes and eight seconds left in the first period. It was the only first period goal. Perfetti then put the Jets up 3-2 with a game-winning goal from defenseman Dylan DeMelo of London, Ontario and Vladislav Namestnikov to break a 2-2 tie at 5:51 of the final frame. Perfetti then closed out the scoring with one minute and 45 seconds left into an empty net. Ehlers and defenseman Neal Pionk had the assists.
In 2024-25, Perfetti has 10 goals and 18 assists for 28 points. He was a +13 with 10 penalty minutes, 10 power-play points, two game-winning goals, 89 shots, 15 faceoff wins, 34 blocked shots, 41 hits, 11 takeaways and 30 giveaways. Perfetti’s other game-winning goal this season came on October 26 in a 5-3 Jets win over the Calgary Flames. Perfetti scored from Namestnikov and Nino Niederreiter with three minutes and 44 seconds left on the power-play.
With the win, the Jets improve to a record of 33 wins, 14 regular season losses and three losses in extra time for 69 points. They lead the Western Conference and have the second most points in the NHL. Only the Washington Capitals with 71 points have more.
