Cincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown of London, Ontario recorded his first career National Football League touchdown on Sunday. He accomplished the feat in a 34-14 Bengals win over the Indianapolis Colts at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Brown’s touchdown opened the scoring six minutes and 31 seconds into the contest. It was a 54 yard touchdown catch from Jake Browning. Brown actually caught the pass about three yards behind the line of scrimmage, ran downfield, and impressively eluded an attempted tackle by safety Rodney Thomas.

Brown had three catches for 80 yards and also had eight rushes for 25 yards on Sunday. Brown’s 80 receiving yards actually led the Bengals, and his 105 total yards were second on the team. Only running back Joe Mixon had more total yards as he had 125 total yards (79 rushing and 46 receiving).

In 2023, Brown has 19 rushes for 92 yards. He also has six catches for 87 yards. Brown was the Bengals’s fifth round pick, 163rd overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. The rookie played his college football at Illinois.

With the win, the Bengals improved to a record of seven wins and six losses. All four teams in the AFC North are above .500 at the moment. The Baltimore Ravens lead at 10 wins and three losses. The Cleveland Browns are in second at eight wins and five losses. The Bengals are tied with the Steelers for third place.

There is a six-way tie for sixth place in the American Football Conference standings. The Bengals and Steelers are tied with the Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, and Houston Texans. The top seven teams in the Conference make the playoffs.
