The Los Angeles Chargers have selected offensive lineman Logan Taylor of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia in the sixth round, 202nd overall, in the 2026 National Football League Draft in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday. Taylor played at the NCAA Division I level over the last five seasons. He was at the University of Virginia in 2021 and 2022, and Boston College the last three seasons from 2023 to 2025.
In all, Taylor played 49 games in college football in the United States. He played 12 games with the University of Virginia Cavaliers and then 37 games with the Boston College Eagles. It is common for university football players in the United States to play for more than one team today. In the 49 games, Taylor had two solo tackles. The first came in Taylor’s first season with the Eagles in a 27-24 Boston College win over Army on October 7, 2023, and the second came in his final college season in a 48-7 Boston College loss to Pittsburgh.
Taylor is one of two Canadians drafted by the Chargers in the 2026 NFL Draft. The other was linebacker Akheem Mesidor of Ottawa, Ontario, who was selected in the first round, 22nd overall, on Thursday.
According to the Canadian Press, the Chargers are the second team in NFL history to draft two Canadians in the same draft. In 2014, the Baltimore Ravens drafted defensive lineman Brent Urban of Mississauga, Ontario in the fourth round and offensive lineman John Urschel of Winnipeg, Manitoba in the fifth round.
