The Vancouver Canucks have beaten the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 in game three of the 2024 Western Conference semifinals at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta. With the victory, the Canucks have the 2-1 series lead in the best out of seven series.
Two Canucks scored twice for Vancouver on Sunday. They were Elias Lindholm and Brock Boeser. Lindholm has played for Canadian teams this season as he also previously played for the Calgary Flames.
Boeser led the Canucks with three points as he had two goals and one assist. In addition to Lindholm who scored twice, two other Canucks with a multi-point game were Quinn Hughes and J.T. Miller, who had two assists each.
The biggest story in game three was the Canucks goaltending, as Arturs Silovs made 42 saves, which was a career-high.
The biggest question in Edmonton at the moment is who will be the starting goaltender for the Oilers in game four. There was a genuine feeling that Stuart Skinner of Edmonton, Alberta was not good enough in games three. However, Calvin Pickard of Moncton, New Brunswick struggled down the stretch as he lost games to the Columbus Blue Jackets, Ottawa Senators and two games to the Arizona Coyotes. Game four takes place on Tuesday.
