The Calgary Flames have won their opening game of the first round of the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs. On Tuesday, Dillon Dube of Golden, British Columbia scored twice as the Flames defeated the Dallas Stars 3-2 at Rogers Place in Edmonton.

Dube scored the first two goals of the game to put Calgary up 2-0 after the first period. He scored on the power play from Milan Lucic of Vancouver, British Columbia, and Mikael Backlund at 10:54 of the first period on an outstanding odd-man Flames rush, and then put the Flames up 2-0 on a goal from Erik Gustafsson and Derek Forbort.

There were three other Canadians on a winning playoff team on Tuesday to record a multi-point game. The game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Columbus Blue Jackets in Toronto was simply historic. That is because it was the fourth-longest game in hockey history. Brayden Point of Calgary, Alberta scored the overtime winner at 10:27 of the fifth overtime in a 3-2 Tampa Bay Lightning win over the Columbus Blue Jackets in game one of their series. Point scored Tampa Bay’s first goal at 6:27 of the first period from Nikita Kucherov and Victor Hedman.

Meanwhile, two Canadians on the Vegas Golden Knights registered a multi-point game in their 4-1 opening game win over the Chicago Blackhawks in Edmonton. Reilly Smith of Etobicoke, Ontario had two goals and one assist, while Jonathan Marchessault of Quebec City, Quebec had two assists.
