Team Canada has won its second consecutive game at the 2026 NORCECA Men’s Volleyball Tournament in Moncton, New Brunswick. On Saturday, Canada defeated Puerto Rico 25-19, 25-17, 25-17 in straight sets. The win over Puerto Rico came after Canada clobbered Curacao 25-12, 25-20, 25-14 on Friday to open the tournament.
In Saturday’s win. four Canadians reached double digits in scoring. For the second straight game, Canada’s top scorer was outside hitter Eric Loeppky of Winnipeg, Manitoba. After he scored 14 points against Curacao, Loeppky had 15 points against Puerto Rico. He had 12 attack points and three blocks. Opposite Sharone Vernon-Evans of Scarborough, Ontario had 13 points (nine attack points, three block points and one ace), outside hitter Stephen Maar of Aurora, Ontario had 12 points (11 attack points and one block), and middle blocker Jackson Howe of Calgary, Alberta had 12 points (eight attack points and four blocks). Meanwhile, middle blocker Fynn McCarthy of Kelowna, British Columbia led Canada with four aces.
Loeppky now has 29 points in two games. He is tied with Diego Gonzalez of Mexico for the tournament lead in points. Mexico will be Canada’s opponent on Sunday. Both teams are at two wins and zero losses. Mexico has also beaten Curacao and Puerto Rico. In Pool B, the United States and Cuba are undefeated.
