According to the Canadian Press on Monday, high performance women’s curler Briane Harris of Winnipeg, Manitoba is joining Team Kate Cameron’s curling team based out of the Granite Curling Club in Winnipeg. Harris is replacing Brianna Cullen of Swan River, Manitoba, who parted ways with Cameron last week.
Harris will now be the third on Team Cameron. Taylor McDonald of Lethbridge, Alberta is changing positions from third to second, and Mackenzie Elias of Winnipeg will remain the lead. McDonald will be the import.
Cameron currently is ranked seventh in the Canadian Team Ranking System with 127.875 points. She is behind Rachel Homan, Kerri Einarson, Kayla Skrlik, Christina Black, Kaitlyn Lawes and Corryn Brown.
Harris was a member of Kerri Einarson’s team over the last six seasons. In that time, she won four consecutive Scotties Tournament of Hearts as the lead. Harris was also on the Einarson team that won two bronze medals at the World Women’s Curling Championships (2022 in Prince George, British Columbia and 2023 in Sandviken, Sweden).
In the last year, Harris tested positive for the drug Ligandrol, and was subsequently suspended. She was suspended for approximately 10 months before being cleared to participate again by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
