The Toronto Blue Jays have signed outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. according to Ben Nicholson-Smith of Rogers Sportsnet on Tuesday. The signing comes six days after Bradley Jr. was released by the Boston Red Sox.

The Blue Jays become the third team Bradley Jr. has played for following nine seasons with the Red Sox and one with the Milwaukee Brewers. In 91 games, 290 plate appearances for Boston this year, he had three home runs and 29 runs batted in, while batting .210. During 271 at bats, Bradley Jr. scored 21 runs and had 57 hits, 19 doubles, one triple, two stolen bases, an on base percentage of .257, a slugging percentage of .321, 87 total bases, and two sacrifice bunts.

Bradley Jr. was an All-Star with the Red Sox in 2016. That year he batted .267 with 26 home runs and 87 runs batted in. Bradley Jr. also had career highs six years ago in home runs, runs batted in, runs scored (94), hits (149), walks (63), total bases (271), and sacrifice flies (five).

This is the second acquisition of an outfielder for the Blue Jays in a week. A week ago Toronto acquired Whit Merrifield from the Kansas City Royals at the trade deadline.

The Blue Jays meanwhile hold down the top wildcard spot at the moment in the American League. They have a record of 60 wins and 50 losses.
