The Winnipeg Blue Bombers traded defensive lineman Kyle Samson of Hamilton, Ontario to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Tuesday according to the Canadian Football League website. In addition to Samson, the Blue Bombers traded the fourth round pick of the Canadian Football League Draft (36th overall), and the first round pick of the Global Draft (eighth overall) to the Tiger-Cats. Meanwhile, the Tiger-Cats traded running back Matthew Peterson of Brooks, Alberta, the fifth round pick of the Canadian Football League Draft (39th overall), and the first round pick of the Global Draft (second overall) to the Blue Bombers.

Samson only played in one game for the Blue Bombers. It just so happened to be the 2024 Grey Cup at BC Place in Vancouver. The Blue Bombers lost 41-24 to the Toronto Argonauts. Peterson did not play last season for Hamilton.

The 36th overall pick was defensive lineman Ty Anderson of Calgary, Alberta. Anderson played his university football at the University of Alberta with the Golden Bears. The 39th overall pick was wide receiver Joey Corcoran of Montreal, Quebec out of the University of New Hampshire. The second overall pick in the Global Draft was defensive lineman Kemari Munier-Bailey, and the eighth overall pick in the Global Draft was punter Josh Green.
