Adin Hill of Comox, British Columbia recorded his ninth career National Hockey League shutout on Tuesday. He accomplished the feat in a 1-0 Vegas Golden Knights victory over the Edmonton Oilers at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada.
Hill made 28 saves overall. He had three saves in the first period, nine saves in the second period and 12 saves in the third period.
The Golden Knights’s only goal came at 10:47 of the first period. Ivan Barbashev scored unassisted on a Leon Draisaitl giveaway. The Oilers turnover led to a two-on-one rush for the Golden Knights. Barbashev initially tried to pass the puck to Jack Eichel. That pass was broken up by a diving Evan Bouchard. The puck returned to Barbashev who shot the puck and scored past Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner. In a remarkable box score, there were no assists in the game and no penalties.
Of Hill’s nine career shutouts, four have been with the Vegas Golden Knights, three with the Arizona Coyotes and two with the San Jose Sharks. This was Hill’s second shutout of the season. Both shutouts have come against Alberta teams. The first was on October 28 in a 5-0 Golden Knights win over the Calgary Flames.
In 2024-25, Hill has a record of 11 wins, four regulation losses and two losses in extra time. He has a goals against average of 2.67 and a save percentage of .900.
With the win, the Golden Knights improve to a record of 16 wins, seven regulation losses, and three losses in extra time for 35 points. They are in first place in the Pacific Division and lead the second place Los Angeles Kings by four points.
