Adin Hill records fifth career NHL shutout

Adin Hill of Comox, British Columbia recorded his fifth career NHL shutout on Saturday. In a 5-0 San Jose Sharks win over the Los Angeles Kings from the SAP Center in San Jose, California, Hill made 29 saves.

Hill made 15 saves in the first period, eight saves in the second period, and six saves in the third period. It was the Sharks’ second consecutive win over the Kings, as they defeated Los Angeles 4-3 on March 10.

Hill’s previous shutout this season also came by a score of 5-0. It was in a five-goal Sharks win over the Montreal Canadiens on October 19, 2021.

Hill’s other three shutouts came with the Arizona Coyotes. He made 29 saves in a 3-0 Coyotes win over the Nashville Predators on November 29, 2018, 34 saves in a 4-0 Coyotes win over the Sharks on March 27, 2021, and 25 saves in a 3-0 Coyotes win over the Vegas Golden Knights on April 30, 2021.

So far this season, Hill has a record of 10 wins, 11 regulation losses, and one loss in extra time, two shutouts, a goals against average of 2.66, and a save percentage of .906. On August 4, 2021, Hill signed a two-year contract worth $4.35 million with the Sharks after four seasons with the Coyotes. So far this season, Hill has also contributed to the Sharks offensively as he recorded his first two NHL assists. They came in a 4-1 San Jose win over the Calgary Flames on November 9.
