The Winnipeg Jets are up two games to none in the 2025 National Hockey League Stanley Cup Playoffs. On Monday, the Jets beat the St. Louis Blues 2-1 at the Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. With the win, the Jets took a two games to none lead in their Western Conference first round playoff series.
Mark Scheifele of Kitchener, Ontario was involved in both Winnipeg goals, and led the Jets in scoring with two points. He first scored from defenseman Dylan DeMelo of London, Ontario with three minutes and 28 seconds left in the first period to open the scoring. Scheifele then had a secondary assist on the game-winning goal by Kyle Connor at 1:43 of the third period. Cole Perfetti of Whitby, Ontario had the other assist as he picked up his first career Stanley Cup Playoff postseason point.
Connor Hellebuyck was stellar in net for the Jets. He made 21 saves on 22 shots. Hellebuyck had a strong regular season for Winnipeg as he led the NHL in wins (47), goals against average (2.00), and shutouts (eight). You could make the argument that Hellebuyck won the triple crown for NHL goaltenders.
The series now shifts to St. Louis on Thursday. The start time is 7:30 pm MT.
