Toronto Rock win game one of the 2026 NLL Cup Final

The Toronto Rock have won game one of the 2026 National Lacrosse League Cup Final. On Sunday, the Rock defeated the Halifax Mooseheads 13-11 at Toronto Dominion Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario.

Like game five of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League Final on Friday night, we saw another impressive comeback in a postseason game in Eastern Canada. This time in lacrosse. The Rock were once down 9-4 with two minutes and seven seconds left in the second quarter before outscoring the Thunderbirds 9-2 the rest of the way en route to a 13-11 win. In Moncton on Friday night, the Wildcats blew a 4-0 lead only to see the Chicoutimi Sagueneens win 7-6.

This was the second time we saw a monumental comeback in the NLL postseason involving the Thunderbirds. In game one of the NLL quarterfinals, the Thunderbirds were trailing the Vancouver Warriors 7-1 at halftime, but won the game 10-7.

CJ Kirst led the Rock with six points, as he had four goals and two assists for six points. Sam English of Burlington, Ontario and Owen Hiltz of Peterborough, Ontario scored two goals each. The five Rick players with a goal were Mark Matthews of Oshawa, Ontario, Josh Dawick of Oakville, Ontario, Challen Rogers of Coquitlam, British Columbia, Dan Craig of Shellburne, Ontario. and Chris Boushy. The Rock can win the NLL Cup best of three final Sunday in Halifax.
