The fourth day is now complete at the 2025 Montana’s Brier, and there are three undefeated teams. In Pool A, Canadian Olympic gold medalist Brad Gushue is all alone at four wins and zero losses. In Pool B, there are two teams without a loss as Saskatchewan’s Mike McEwen is 4-0, and Alberta’s Brad Jacobs is 3-0. Like Gushue, Jacobs is a former Olympic gold medalist. Gushue won his gold medal at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin, and Jacobs won the gold medal at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.

On Monday, Gushue won a battle of undefeated teams as he defeated Reid Carruthers of Winnipeg 7-3. What was key about Gushue’s win was the fact that the team showed exceptional resiliency. The Canadian third Mark Nichols made an error in the midway point of the game as he was unable to remove to a Manitoba stone with his shot attempt, but the team was not impacted at all. In fact, they dominated afterwards and won handily.

Meanwhile, McEwen beat Quebec rather easily 9-4 in the morning draw. They key moment came in the seventh end when Saskatchewan scored three points thanks to an impressive double takeout with his final stone to take an 8-4 lead. Jacobs meanwhile won handily on Monday afternoon, as he beat Prince Edward Island by a score of 10-3. McEwen could play Jacobs in a battle of undefeated teams on Thursday night.
