Week 16 is now complete in the Canadian Football League and three Canadians scored touchdowns on winning teams. They were Hamilton Tiger-Cats running back Ante Milanovic-Litre, Saskatchewan Roughriders wide receiver Kian Schaffer-Baker of Mississauga, Ontario, and Winnipeg Blue Bombers running back Brady Oliveira of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Milanovic-Litre had a two-yard touchdown run with 10 minutes and eight seconds left in the third quarter in a 33-31 Hamilton Tiger-Cats win over the Toronto Argonauts on Friday. He finished the game with seven rushes of eight yards. On the season, Milanovic-Litre has 41 rushes for 105 rushing yards and three touchdowns, along with four catches for 38 receiving yards.
Schaffer-Baker had a 25-yard touchdown catch from Trevor Harris on Friday in a 37-29 Saskatchewan win over the Calgary Stampeders. At the time, the Roughriders went up 31-16. In the game, Schaffer-Baker had five catches for 80 receiving yards and one touchdown. During the season, he has 43 catches for 642 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Oliveira had 18 rushes for 127 rushing yards and two touchdown runs, along with two rushes for 11 rushing yards in a 27-14 Blue Bombers win over the Edmonton Elks on Saturday. Oliveira’s touchdowns were for six yards and five yards. Oliveira’s first touchdown put the Blue Bombers up 20-10, and the second touchdown put the Blue Bombers up 27-10. On the season, Oliveira has 176 rushes for 1021 rushing yards and two touchdowns, along with 46 catches for 376 receiving yards. With the win, the Blue Bombers improve to a record of eight wins and six losses and are in first place in the West Division.
