We now know six of the eight teams that have qualified for the Championship Pool of the 2020 Scotties Tournament of Hearts from Mosaic Place in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. In Pool A, Manitoba’s Kerri Einarson (6-1), Northern Ontario’s Krista McCarville (5-2) and Canada’s Chelsea Carey (4-3) are moving on. While in Pool B, the three teams moving through are Ontario’s Rachel Homan (6-1), the Wildcard’s Jennifer Jones (6-1) and Prince Edward Island’s Suzanne Birt (5-2).

On Thursday morning, there will be two tiebreakers to round out the group of eight. Saskatchewan’s Robyn Silvernagle is playing New Brunswick’s Andrea Crawford in the Pool A tiebreaker. Both teams are at 4-3. Also, British Columbia’s Corryn Brown is playing Nova Scotia’s Mary-Anne Arsenault in the Pool B tiebreaker. Both of those teams are also 4-3.

The level of competition at the 2020 Scotties Tournament of Hearts has been excellent after the first six days with no clear cut favourite by any stretch of the imagination. We all know that Homan and Jones have won here before, but at age 45, does Jones lost her touch? Also, is Homan able to bounce back after a disastrous 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang and a poor performance in the 2019 Scotties Tournament of Hearts final? Time will tell. So far, nobody has separated themselves from the rest of the pack.
