Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of Toronto, Ontario became the second Canadian ever to have multiple triple-doubles in his NBA career. Gilgeous-Alexander had 27 points, 12 assists, and 11 rebounds as the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Denver Nuggets 108-94 at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Wednesday.

This was the second career triple-double for Gilgeous-Alexander. The first came on January 13, 2020 in a 117-104 Thunder win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. In that contest, Gilgeous-Alexander had 20 points, 20 rebounds and 10 assists.

The only other Canadian to have multiple triple doubles was Steve Nash of Victoria, British Columbia, who had four of them in his career—three in the regular season and one in the playoffs. Nash had his first triple double on November 17, 2003, while with the Dallas Mavericks. He had 14 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds, in a 105-98 Dallas win over the Portland Trail Blazers. Nash’s second triple double came on March 30, 2005 while with the Phoenix Suns. He had 12 points, 13 rebounds, and 12 assists in a 116-87 Suns triumph over the Philadelphia 76ers.

Nash’s third career triple-double was also against Portland, this time with Phoenix. On April 19, 2006, Nash had 16 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds in a 106-96 Suns victory.

Nash’s only career triple-double in the postseason came on May 18, 2005. He had 34 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists in a 114-108 Suns win over the Mavericks in game five of the 2005 Western Conference semifinal series. The Suns went on to win the series four games to two.

The Thunder meanwhile have now won three straight games. They have improved to a record of 11 wins and 19 losses.
