Jaden Schwartz helps keep Blues alive in 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs

Jaden Schwartz of Wilcox, Saskatchewan led the St. Louis Blues in scoring on Sunday in game six of their second round playoff series with the Dallas Stars. Schwartz was the only Blues player with a multi-point game as he had one goal and one assist for two points in the Blues 4-1 win over the Stars at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. With the win, the Blues have tied the National Hockey League Western Conference series at three games apiece with game seven slated for Tuesday night at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

Schwartz recorded an assist on the Blues’s opening goal by Canadian Olympic gold medalist Alex Pietrangelo of King City, Ontario. Pietrangelo’s goal came at 1:03 of the first period with Joel Edmundson of Brandon, Manitoba picking up the other assist. Schwartz then put the Blues up 3-1 at 7:37 of the third period with a goal from Alexander Steen of Winnipeg, Manitoba and Colton Parayko of St. Albert, Alberta.

Two other Canadians scored for the Blues. David Perron of Sherbrooke, Quebec scored the game winning goal at 15:24 of the second period from Oskar Sundqvist and Ivan Barbashev, which at the time put the Blues up 2-1. Then Sammy Blais  of Montmagny, Quebec scored his first career playoff goal from Ryan O’Reilly of Clinton, Ontario at 8:10 of the third period which put the Blues up 4-1. Pietrangelo meanwhile won his gold medal for Canada in men’s ice hockey at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.
