Roughnecks reach the 2019 NLL Final

The Calgary Roughnecks are in the 2019 National Lacrosse League Final. On Friday evening at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, the Roughnecks defeated the Colorado Mammoth 8-4 in the West Division Final.

Dane Dobbie of Elora, Ontario led the Roughnecks in scoring with six points. The Roughnecks veteran forward had two goals and four assists and also led Calgary with a remarkable 16 shots on net. It has been a sensational season for Dobbie, as he led the National Lacrosse League during the regular season with 115 points (47 goals and 68 assists).

The win over the Mammoth was one of two playoff wins for the Roughnecks in the 2019 National Lacrosse League playoffs. They also beat the expansion San Diego Swarm 12-11 at the Pechanga Arena San Diego in southern California on May 6 in a rare Monday night game in the National Lacrosse League. Curtis Dickson of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia and Dobbie each had seven points as Dickson had four goals and three assists and Dobbie had three goals and four assists.

The Roughnecks will play the Buffalo Bandits in the National Lacrosse League Final. The Bandits beat the Toronto Rock 12-8 in the Eastern Final on Saturday. The Rock advanced to the Eastern Final when they beat the Georgia Swarm 16-14 at the Infinite Energy Arena in Duluth, Georgia on May 6. It was a big game for Adam Jones of Owen Sound, Ontario, as he had nine points (three goals and six assists). Game one of the NLL Final will be Saturday in Buffalo. The Roughnecks will host game two of the series on May 25.
