We now know the three teams that have qualified from Pool B at the 2025 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay, Ontario. While Pool A was determined on Wednesday, Pool B was extremely fascinating as six teams out of the nine teams in the pool still had a chance of reaching the playoffs heading into Draw 18. Those teams were Manitoba’s Kerri Einarson (5-2), Ontario (5-2), Nova Scotia (5-2), Quebec (5-3), Manitoba’s Kate Cameron (4-3), and Manitoba’s Kaitlyn Lawes (4-3).
Then on Thursday night, Einarson defeated Lawes 9-6 thanks to a three-ender by Einarson in the 10th end, Nova Scotia’s Christina Black defeated Cameron 8-6, and Ontario’s Danielle Inglis beat the North West Territories team skipped by Kerry Galusha 9-3. As a result, there was a three-way tie for first between Einarson, Ontario and Nova Scotia at 6-2. Einarson clinched first as she beat Ontario 8-6 and Nova Scotia 9-6. Black got second because she beat Inglis 7-5.
On Friday, the Page 1/2 qualifiers will be Team Canada’s Rachel Homan versus Nova Scotia, and Einarson versus Alberta’s Kayla Skrlik. The two winners will go to the 1-2 playoff game tomorrow, while the two losers will go to the 3-4 qualifier elimination games where they will face British Columbia’s Corrine Brown and Inglis.
In other Scotties news, there was a special moment on Thursday night. We saw the final rock thrown by Galusha at the Scotties. As she delivered her final stone in the eighth end against Inglis, play stopped on the three other sheets as players and spectators gave Galusha a standing ovation. The 22-time Scotties representative has announced her plans to retire.
