The Edmonton Oilers have evened their National Hockey League Stanley Cup Playoff Western Conference Final at two games apiece. On Wednesday evening at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, the Oilers defeated the Dallas Stars 5-2 in game four of their best out of seven series.

Oilers captain and center Connor McDavid of Richmond Hill, Ontario led the Oilers in scoring with three points as he had three assists. The five Oilers goal scorers were Ryan McLeod of Mississauga, Ontario, Evan Bouchard of Oakville, Ontario, Mattias Janmark, Leon Draisaitl, and Mattias Ekholm.

It was a slow start for Edmonton as the Stars jumped out to a 2-0 lead at the 5:29 mark of the opening frame. The Oilers then scored five unanswered goals.

One major reason why the Oilers came through with a three goal win was their physical play. Edmonton had 47 hits as a team, while Dallas only had 23. Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse of Hamilton, Ontario had a notable contest with 12 hits, a personal high. Nurse was one of the Oilers who got off to a tough start as he was a -2. The second goal by Dallas actually bounced off his bum and by Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner.

The series now shifts to Dallas for game five. The sixth game is in Edmonton on Sunday.
