Nova Scotia and BC beat each other in team events at 2023 Canada Winter Games

In the final day of competition at the 2023 Canada Winter Games in Prince Edward Island on Sunday, Nova Scotia and British Columbia beat each other in prestigious team events. In male curling, Nova Scotia trounced British Columbia 7-3. In female hockey, British Columbia blanked Quebec 3-0.

In male curling, Nova Scotia had two three-enders as they scored thrice each in the second and sixth ends. The team was skipped by Calan MacIsaac of Truro. Nova Scotia had previously won the gold medal in female curling a week ago.

In the female hockey gold medal game, British Columbia got a shutout from Rebecca Noble of North Delta, British Columbia. Noble made 11 saves as she made five saves in the first period, four saves in the second period and two saves in the third period. Chloe Primerano of North Vancouver, was British Columbia’s leading scorer with two assists. The British Columbia goal scorers were Danica Maynard of Osoyoos, Mikayla Blomquist of Kelowna, and Maddy Leaney of Maple Ridge.

Quebec won the overall medal standings with 151 medals. On Sunday, they won their 57th gold medal. It came in male ski cross, as Charles Leduc of Lasalle, Quebec won gold. Louis-Thomas Cantin of Quebec City, Quebec won silver, and Maddox Johnson of Fernie, British Columbia won bronze.
