
The Montreal Canadiens are continuing to have great success on the road in the 2026 National Hockey League Stanley Cup Playoffs. On Thursday night, the Canadiens clobbered the Carolina Hurricanes 6-2 in game one of the 2026 Eastern Conference Finals from Raleigh, North Carolina.
The Canadiens now have a terrific record of seven wins and two losses in nine games played away from Montreal in the 2026 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. They won three of their four games in Tampa, three of their four games in Buffalo, and now the first game of the series in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Two Canadians had a multi-point game for the Canadiens. They were captain Nick Suzuki of London, Ontario, and Phillip Danault of Victoriaville, Quebec. Suzuki co-led the Canadiens with three points as he had three assists. Danault had one goal and one assist for two points. The other Canadiens goal scorers were Juraj Slafkovsky, Cole Caufield, Ivan Demidov, and Alexandre Texier. Slafkovsky and Caufield also had multi-point games. Slafkovsky had two goals and one assist for three points. Caufield had one goal and one assist for two points.
This was Carolina’s first loss in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. They had swept the Ottawa Senators in the first round and the Philadelphia Flyers in the second round.
