Mikael Kingsbury wins World Cup moguls silver in Utah

Canadian Olympic gold medalist Mikael Kingsbury of Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Quebec won a World Cup men’s moguls silver medal in Deer Valley, Utah on Thursday. It was the seventh medal for Kingsbury this World Cup season and the 111th World Cup medal of his career. Overall, Kingsbury has 77 gold medals, 28 silver medals and six bronze medals.

Kingsbury posted a score of 83.65 points. Matt Graham of Australia won the gold medal with 85.35 points. Benjamin Cavet of France won the bronze medal with 81.82 points. Kingsbury earned a medal by 10.88 points over Dylan Marcellini of the United States, who finished in fourth place with 72.77 points.

Kingsbury leads the overall World Cup moguls standings (moguls and dual moguls) with 622 points. Ikuma Horishima of Japan is second with 458 points. In the World Cup moguls standings, Kingsbury also leads with 440 points. Horishima is second with 297 points.

This is the first of two World Cup moguls events for Kingsbury this weekend. The second is a dual moguls event on Saturday. Deer Valley will also be hosting a World Cup aerials event on Friday.

Kingsbury won a gold medal for Canada at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang. He also won a silver medal at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi and the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing.
