
Meghan Oldham of Newmarket, Ontario won the gold medal on Thursday in a World Cup women’s big air skiing event in Aspen, Colorado. For Oldham, it was her 10th career World Cup medal and second in big air, as the other eight have been in slopestyle. She has won four gold medals, three silver medals and three bronze medals.
On Thursday, Oldham posted a winning score of 183.75 points. Flora Tabanelli of Italy won the silver medal with a score of 175.25. Anni Karava of Finland won the bronze medal with a score of 157.5 points. Oldham comfortably reached the podium by 43 points. Anouk Andraska of Switzerland finished in fourth place with 140.75 points.
Oldham previously won a women’s big air skiing World Cup in Copper Mountain, Colorado on December 16, 2022. This was Oldham’s third World Cup medal of the season as she won a silver medal in women’s slopestyle skiing events in Laax, Switzerland on January 17 and in Aspen, Colorado on February 1.
In the World Cup women’s big air standings for 2024-25, Oldham is in 13th place with 100 points. Tabanelli leads with 340 points. The last World Cup women’s big air event of the season is in Tignes, France on March 14. The gold medal will give Oldham confidence as she prepares for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo.
