Megan Oldham of Newmarket, Ontario won the gold medal in women’s slopestyle skiing on Saturday. Oldham posted a score of 75.41 points in a women’s World Cup in Bakuriani, Georgia for her second World Cup gold medal of her career.

Sarah Hoefflin of Switzerland won the silver medal with a score of 72.38 points. Alia Delia Eichinger of Germany won the bronze medal with a score of 67 points. Oldham earned a medal by 17.63 points over Muriel Mohr of Germany, who was in fourth place with a score of 57.78 points.

It should be noted there were only four competitors in the entire women’s World Cup competition in Georgia. However Hoefflin is formidable as she won the gold medal in women’s slopestyle skiing at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang, and the gold medal in big air skiing at the 2018 Winter X Games in Aspen.

In the World Cup women’s slopestyle skiing standings, Oldham is in third place with 136 points. Kelly Sildaru of Estonia leads with 200 points and Hoefflin is in second place with 160 points.

Oldham’s prior World Cup women’s slopestyle skiing win was in Silvaplana, Switzerland on March 30, 2019. The gold medal in Georgia will give her confidence as she prepares for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo.
