Mark Stone named NHL first star of the week from March 1-7

According to nhl.com on Monday, Vegas Golden Knights Mark Stone of Winnipeg, Manitoba has been named the National Hockey League first star of the week. In four games, Stone had two goals and eight assists for 10 points. He was also a +7 with one game-winning goal, two power-play points, five shots on goal, one hit, and one faceoff win.

On March 1, Stone had five assists in a 5-4 Golden Knights win over the Minnesota Wild. In the process, he set the Vegas record for most assists in a game. The five assists also set a career-high. Stone also tied a career-high for points in one game. He previously had one goal and four assists for five points in a 6-3 Ottawa Senators win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on February 18, 2017, two goals and three assists for five points in a 7-3 Ottawa Senators win over the New Jersey Devils on November 6, 2018, and two goals and three assists for five points in a 7-2 Golden Knights win over the Florida Panthers on February 6, 2020. Stone is the only Golden Knights player to have five points in a game and he has done it twice.
