
Canadian Olympic bronze medalist Marion Thenault of Sherbrooke, Quebec and Emile Nadeau of Prevost, Quebec each won bronze medals in a women’s and Men’s World Cup aerials event respectively in Almaty, Kazakhstan on Sunday. For Thenault, it was her seventh career World Cup medal, and for Nadeau, it was his first career World Cup medal.
Thenault posted a score of 93.76 points. Laura Peel of Australia won the gold medal with a score of 110.36 points and Danielle Scott of Australia won the silver medal with 97.99 points. Thenault won the bronze medal by 4.58 points over Kaila Kuhn of the United States, who had 89.18 points.
Nadeau posted a score of 96.83 points. Pirmin Werner of Switzerland won the gold medal with a score of 123 points and Noe Roth of Switzerland won the silver medal with 118.55 points. Nadeau reached the podium by 1.7 points over Tianma Li of China, who finished in fourth place with 95.13 points.
In the World Cup women’s aerials standings, Thenault finished in third place with 350 points. Scott was the champion with 462 points. In the World Cup men’s aerials standings, Nadeau finished in 12th place with 143 points. Roth was the World Cup champion with 429 points.
Thenault won the bronze medal in mixed aerials at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing. The bronze medals for Thenault and Nadeau will give them confidence as they prepare for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo.
