Kian Schaffer-Baker and Justin McInnis record Week 2 touchdowns on winning CFL teams

Kiran Schaffer-Baker of Mississauga, Ontario and Justin McInnis of Montreal, Quebec recorded week two touchdowns for winning teams in the Canadian Football league in week three. Schaffer-Baker had two touchdowns for the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Sunday in a 33-30 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ontario. Meanwhile, McInnis had one touchdown for the British Columbia Lions on Saturday in a 26-17 win over the Calgary Stampeders at BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia.

In the Roughriders win over the Tiger-Cats, Schaffer-Baker had a 24-yard touchdown catch from Trevor Harris with three minutes and 43 seconds left in the first quarter and an 11-yard touchdown catch from Harris with 46 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Schaffer-Baker’s first touchdown catch was on a converted major score that put the Roughriders up 7-3, and Schaffer-Baker’s second touchdown catch was on a converted major score that tied the game at 30. Schaffer-Baker finished the game with seven catches for 109 yards. In 2024, he has 11 catches for 161 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

In the Lions win over the Stampeders, McInnis had an eight-yard converted touchdown catch from Vernon Adams with one minute and 10 seconds into the second quarter. At the time, the game was tied at seven. In the game, McInnis had four catches for 91 receiving yards. In 2024, McInnis has 11 catches for 194 yards and two touchdowns. With the wins, the Roughriders improved to a record of two wins and zero losses, and the Lions improved to a record of one win and one loss.
