Josh Palmer of Brampton, Ontario recorded his second career National Football League touchdown on Sunday. The rookie out of the University of Tennessee, had a 12-yard touchdown catch from quarterback Justin Herbert with two minutes and 47 seconds into the second quarter for the Los Angeles Chargers in a 37-21 win over the New York Giants at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California.

Palmer ended the day with five catches for 66 yards and one touchdown. The 22-year-old wideout had career highs in receptions and receiving yards. Palmer is expected to see more playing time with the Chargers as their star wide receiver, Keenan Allen, is currently out with coronavirus.

According to Sam Robinson of profootballrumors.com this past week, two of the Chargers players are not vaccinated. They are wide receiver Mike Williams and cornerback Chris Harris, who were placed on the coronavirus list this past week for being a close contact to Allen. They were able to play because they tested negative on Saturday prior to Sunday’s game.

Palmer’s first touchdown this year came on October 31, in a 27-24 Chargers loss to the New England Patriots. On the season, Palmer has 20 catches for 234 yards and two touchdowns. The Chargers are at eight wins and five losses. They are seeded fifth in the American Football Conference.
