Jordan Binnington of Richmond Hill, Ontario notched his 11th career National Hockey League shutout on Saturday. The St. Louis Blues defeated the Edmonton Oilers 2-0 at Rogers Place in Edmonton.

Binnington made five saves in the first period, 10 saves in the second period, and eight saves in the third period. He made 23 saves overall. Four Oilers led the team with three shots on goal each. They were Brett Kulak of Edmonton, Alberta, Evan Bouchard of Oakville, Ontario, Zach Hyman of Toronto, Ontario and Leon Draisaitl.

Offensively, the Blues registered goals from defensemen Torey Krug and Justin Faulk. Blues center Brayden Schenn of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan notched an assist on the game-winning goal by Krug at 5:04 on the power-play. Draisaitl was in the penalty box for tripping. This was the only penalty for the Oilers in the contest, but it was a costly penalty as it was the only goal the Blues scored with Oilers goaltender Jack Campbell in net.

On the season, Binnington now has a record of three wins and zero losses. He has a goals against average of 1.65 and a save percentage of .940. The 1.65 goals against average is a significant improvement from his 3.13 goals against average from a season ago.
