The Los Angeles Dodgers are in the National League Championship Series for the third consecutive year. In their attempt to win their third straight World Series, a Canadian is an instrumental part of the organization.
First baseman Freddie Freeman is a dual Canadian-American citizen. He is born in Villa Park, California and both of his parents came from the Canadian province of Ontario. The three-time World Series champion and 2024 World Series Most Valuable Player is once again having a notable postseason.
Freeman is batting .267 with two singles and two home runs in 15 postseason at bats in 2026. His most notable hit came on Tuesday in a 3-1 Dodgers win over the Atlanta Braves. Freeman hit a solo home run in the fourth inning off of 2024 Cy Young winner Chris Sale, to put the Dodgers up 3-0 at the time.
In four postseason games and 17 plate appearances during the National League Divisional Series, Freeman has scored three runs, and had four hits, two runs batted in, two walks, an on base percentage of .353 and a slugging percentage of .667. The Dodgers beat the Braves in the NLDS three games to one.
Next up for the Dodgers are the Milwaukee Brewers. The Dodgers and Brewers were the only two teams this season to record 100 wins. The Brewers had 103 wins and the Dodgers had 100 wins.
