Four teams remain undefeated at the 2022 Tim Hortons Brier. In Pool A, the second Wildcard team skipped by Matt Dunstone based out of Regina, Saskatchewan are at 5-0, while Team Canada’s Brendan Bottcher is at 4-0. In Pool B, there are two Atlantic-based teams undefeated. The first Wildcard team skipped by Canadian Olympic gold medalist Brad Gushue of St. John’s, Newfoundland are 4-0, while Nova Scotia’s Paul Flemming are 3-0. Gushue won an Olympic gold medal for Canada in men’s curling at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin.

In Monday’s action, we saw Manitoba beat Nunavut 18-1. So, is that a record for most points scored in a game? Actually, not even close. In 1957, Saskatchewan, skipped by Garnet Campbell, actually clobbered New Brunswick 30-3. Meanwhile, Team Alberta had a six-ender in the seventh end to beat Prince Edward Island 11-4.

In Monday night’s action, Alberta’s Kevin Koe delivered two remarkable shots, including an amazing quadruple takeout. However, Alberta still lost to Dunstone 8-6.

Tuesday is a huge day for Manitoba’s Mike McEwen, as he faces the two undefeated squads. In the morning draw, the faces Nova Scotia, and in the evening he faces Gushue. So far, McEwen has a record of two wins and one loss, with his only defeat coming to the third Wildcard team, skipped by Jason Gunnlaugson of Winnipeg, 10-6 on Sunday.
