Four Canadian teams make the 2025 NLL Playoffs

The 2025 National Lacrosse League playoffs are taking place this weekend. On Saturday, four Canadian teams are in action. They are the Calgary Roughnecks, Saskatchewan Rush, Halifax Thunderbirds and Vancouver Warriors. In the first round quarterfinal action, the Rush, the second seed, are playing the seventh seed, Georgia Swarm, at the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Meanwhile, in an all-Canadian matchup, the third seed Thunderbirds are hosting the sixth seed Roughnecks at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Then at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, the Vancouver Warriors, the fourth seed, are hosting the fifth seed, Rochester Knighthawks.

The Rush leading scorer this season was Zach Manns of Victoria, British Columbia. The forward led the team with 35 goals and 74 points. The Thunderbirds leading scorer this season was attacker Randy Staats of Six Nations, Ontario, who had 32 goals and 70 assists for 102 points. Staats was one of two Thunderbirds this season to reach the 100 point mark in points. The other was Clarke Petterson of Toronto, Ontario, who had 30 goals and 70 assists for 100 points. The Warriors’s leading scorer was Keegan Bal of Coquitlam, British Columbia, who had 43 goals and 69 assists for 112 points. The Roughnecks’s leading scorer was Curtis Dickson of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, who had 48 goals and 60 assists for 108 points.
