Edmonton Oilers left winger Evander Kane of Vancouver, British Columbia is simply playing the best hockey of his National Hockey League career and is a major reason why the Oilers lead the Los Angeles Kings two games to one in the Western Conference Quarterfinal Series at the moment. Kane scored thrice on Friday as the Oilers clobbered the Kings 8-2 at the Crypto.com Arena in southern California.
Kane scored the Oilers’ third, fifth, and eighth goals of the game. He put the Oilers up 3-0 from Cody Ceci of Ottawa, Ontario at 6:27 of the second period. That was followed by a goal at 9:51 of the second period from Ceci and Jesse Puljujarvi to put the Oilers up 5-0, and another goal with 20 seconds left in the third period from Ryan Nugent-Hopkins of Burnaby, British Columbia and Ceci to close out the scoring and give the Oilers an 8-2 win.
Kane was one of three Canadians to score for the Oilers. Zach Hyman of Toronto, Ontario and Nugent-Hopkins had two goals each.
Hyman, Kane, Nugent-Hopkins and Ceci all had three points for Edmonton. Meanwhile, Evan Bouchard of Oakville, Ontario, and Connor McDavid of Richmond Hill, Ontario also had a multi-point game as they had two assists each.
