There is a medal chance in the men’s 200 metre butterfly swimming event, as Ilya Kharun of Montreal, Quebec was the third fastest swimmer in qualifying. Kharun set the Canadian record in the men’s 200 metre butterfly at the 2023 World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, Japan with a time of 1:53.82.
