Corey Perry keeps Lightning alive in 2022 Stanley Cup Finals

Canadian Olympic gold medalist Corey Perry of Peterborough, Ontario kept the Tampa Bay Lightning alive in the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals. On Friday night at the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, Perry co-led the Lightning in points with two as he had two assists in a 3-2 Tampa Bay win in Game Five of the best out of seven series. With the win, the Lightning now only trail the Avalanche three games to two.

Perry’s first assist was a primary assist on a goal by Jan Rutta of Pisek, Czech Republic at 15:23 of the first period. For Rutta it was his first goal of the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs and put the Lightning up 1-0.

Perry then had a secondary assist on a power-play goal by Nikita Kucherov at 8:10 of the second period. With the goal, the Lightning went up 2-1. The other Lightning player with a multi-point game on Friday was defenseman Mikhail Sergachev, who also had two assists. The other Lightning goal scorer was Ondrej Palat.

In the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Perry has six goals and five assists for 11 points in 22 games. He is a -2 with 26 penalty minutes, four power-play goals, 42 shots on goal, one faceoff win, 11 blocked shots, 22 hits, five takeaways and seven giveaways.
