The Carolina Panthers are still in the hunt for a playoff spot in the National Football Conference after a 30-24 win over the Seattle Seahawks. On Sunday, Chuba Hubbard of Sherwood Park, Alberta was instrumental on the ground as he had 14 rushes for 74 yards and one touchdown, along with three catches for 25 yards. The 74 rushing yards and the 99 total yards were a season-high.
This was the fourth time in Hubbard’s career he scored a touchdown in a Panthers win. He also had a major score in a 19-13 Panthers win over the Atlanta Falcons on October 31, 2021, in a 34-10 Panthers win over the Arizona Cardinals on November 14, 2021, and in a 21-3 Panthers win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on October 23, 2022.
On the season, Hubbard now has 55 rushes for 250 yards and two touchdowns, along with eight catches for 61 yards. With the win, the Panthers improve to a record of five wins and eight losses. Despite being three games below .500, the Panthers still have a mathematical chance to still win the NFC South according to Mike Tirico of NBC Sports. They actually control their own destiny, as if they win their final four games, they are divisional champions, regardless what happens elsewhere. Their opponents the rest of the way are the Pittsburgh Steelers, Detroit Lions, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints.
