Canucks trade Jason Dickinson to Blackhawks for Riley Stillman

According to the Canadian Press on Friday, the Vancouver Canucks traded center Jason Dickinson of Georgetown, Ontario and a second round draft pick to the Chicago Blackhawks for defenseman Riley Stillman of Calgary, Alberta. Dickinson will be joining his third National Hockey League team after six seasons with the Dallas Stars and one with the Canucks. Stillman will also be joining his third NHL team after three seasons with the Florida Panthers and two seasons with the Blackhawks.

In 2021-22, Stillman had two goals and 10 assists for 12 points in 52 games. He was a -8 with 36 penalty minutes, one game-winning goal, 49 shots on goal, 67 blocked shots, 122 hits, 11 takeaways and 29 giveaways. Stillman’s game-winning goal came in a 2-1 Blackhawks win over the Vegas Golden Knights from Dylan Strome of Mississauga, Ontario and Patrick Kane on January 8.

Also this past season, Dickinson had five goals and six assists for 11 points in 62 games. He was a -1 with 19 penalty minutes, 66 shots on goal, 123 faceoff wins, 43 blocked shots, 101 hits, 20 takeaways and nine giveaways.

The Canucks begin their 2021-22 NHL regular season on Wednesday in Edmonton. It is their first of a five game road trip to begin the season for the Canucks as they also travel to Philadelphia, Washington, Columbus and Minnesota. The Canucks first home game is October 22 against Buffalo.
