After splitting the first two games in their first round playoff series with the Nashville Predators, the Vancouver Canucks came through with a 2-1 win on Friday in game three at Bridgestone Arena. Vancouver got the win despite only having 12 shots on net, and in the process took the two games to one series lead in the best out of seven series.
The Canucks were led offensively by J.T. Miller and Quinn Hughes. Miller had one goal and one assist for two points, and Hughes had two assists. The other Canucks goal scorer was Brock Boeser. Both Canucks goals came on the power-play.
Vancouver got the win, despite not generating much offense or scoring chances. The Predators actually outshot the Canucks 30-12.
The bottom line is this a game the Predators should have one and let it slip away. The Canucks are without goaltender Thatcher Demko, who is an elite netminder in the game today. He has not played the last two games of the series. Some believe Demko could return for the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, however according to Adam Kierszenblat of The Hockey News, there is a possibility that Demko might have torn his anterior cruciate ligament. That would mean he is definitely gone for the rest of the playoffs.
